UYU-TR 04 - TRAIN TRIP UYUNI-ORURO WITH EXPRESO DEL SUR AND WARA WARA TRAINS

Transfer from hotel to train station, registration of passengers and luggages. Ticket to Oruro in the best available category. Train Expresso del Sur Tuesday and Saturday 22h30 arrival 06h30 (+1), Train Wara Wara Friday and Wednesday 01h30 am. Arrival 09h30 am.

Departure by 4x4 through the Salt Desert a wide 12000 km2 extension. Arrival to Colchani and visit of a local salt industry. Transfer to the border of the Desert and 80 km trip to reach the volcanic island Incahuasi. Walk in the middle of the Giant Cactus path to the top of the Island. Box Lunch. Return by the same route to Colchani and Uyuni.

 

UYU-IT 02  - UYUNI - COLCHANI – SALT LAKE - COQUESA - VOLCAN TUNUPA –INCAHUASI ISLAND - COLCHANI -UYUNI

Departure by 4x4 toward Salt Desert a wide 12000 km2 extension in the region of the volcanoes of Southern Bolivia. Arrival at Colchani and visit of a family salt industry. 100 km override to arrive at Coquesa’s small stone built village. Outstanding view over the Volcano Tunupa, a giant of 5600 m with surrealistic colors. Ascend with the 4x4 on the side of the Volcano up to a general overview of the region. Box lunch. Crossing through 50 km to Island Incahuasi 1h30 walk on the path among the giant cactus and around the most panoramic site of this volcanic site. Return to Colchani and enjoy the fantastic sunset over the desert. Return to Uyuni.

 

UYU-IT 03 - UYUNI-COLCHANI-DESIERTO DE SAL-ISLA DE INCAHUASI-DESIERTO DE SAL-VOLCAN TUNUPA-TAHUA – ORURO

2 days-1 night. Driver only. Private. Guide on request.

Day 1: Departure by 4x4 to reach the Salt Flat. Arrival at Colchani and visit family salt industry. Crossing to join the volcanic Island Incahuasi. Walk among the giant cactus’s path to the top of the Island. Forward crossing to the small, stone built village of Coquesa. Outstanding view over the Volcano Tunupa. Ascend with the 4x4 on the side of the Vulcan up to a general overview and a visit of a cave with pre-hispanic mommies. Back downhill to the Salt Desert and travel to Tahua with a fantastic sunset.

Day 2: Departure by 4x4 crossing the villages of Salina, back to a paved road and arrival at Oruro around midday

 

UYU-IT 04 - UYUNI - VILLAMAR - LAGUNA COLORADA - SALVADOR DALI DESERT - LAGUNA VERDE - HITO CAJON

2 days-1 night. Driver only. Private.

Day 1: Departure by 4x4 to cross Pampa Colorada’s desert with the rivers Rio Colorado and Rio Grande which flow to the salt flat. Arrival to San Cristobal. Visit of the colonial church. Lunch. Continuation crossing the villages of Culpina K and Alota. Walk in the Rock Valley through the lava stone formations. Arrival to Villamar. Dinner.

Day 2: Departure to cross a rocky Andean mountain and reaching Laguna Colorada with her pink flamingo’s colony. Travel to the Geyser of the Morning Sun, Lagoon Chalviri and crossing the Salvador Dali Desert before reaching the Green Lagoon and volcano Llicancabur. Further along the White Lagoon and arrival Hito Cajon (border with Chili).

UYU-IT 07 - UYUNI-SAN PERDRO DE QUEMEZ- VILLAMAR-TUPIZA OR UYUNI

Día 1: Uyuni departure to Salt flat and continuation to San Pedro de Quemez.

Día 2: Departure to desert Chinguana, continuation by the route of Volcanoes and arrival to

Ojo de Perdiz (alt 4600 m).

Día 3: Departure from Ojo de Perdiz to Laguna Verde, return to Laguna Colorada and arrival to Villamar.

Día 4: Return from Villamar to Uyuni (3 hours) or Villamar to Tupiza (9 hours).

UYU-IT 08 - HITO CAJON –GREEN LAGOON – LAGOON COLORADA-VILLAMAR-UYUNI-SALT DESERT

Day 1: Valtour’s service starts at the border of Hito Cajon. Departure 09h30 toward the Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde and Volcano Llicancabur. Traverse of the desert of Salvador Dali to Laguna Chalviri. Box Lunch. Further Geyser Sol de Mañana, Laguna Colorada and arrival in Villamar. Dinner.

Day 2: Departure through Rock valley, Alota, Culpina K, arrival at San Cristobal. Forward to the Old Steam Train Cementery. Arrival to Uyuni. Lunch. Continuation to Colchani and 80 km traverse on the Salt Desert to Island Incahuasi, visits and return to Uyuni the same way.

Day 1: Departure from Hito Cajon at 09h30 to Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde, with the impressive Volcano Llicancabur. Traverse of the desert Salvador Dali, Laguna Chalviri. Box Lunch. Further Geyser Sol de Mañana, Laguna Colorada, crossing Siloli desert and arrival at Ojo de Perdiz (alt 4600 m).

Day 2: Departure through Siloli Desert, lagoons Honda and Hedionda with a flamingo colony. Box Lunch. Over the volcano road to Chiguana Desert, arrival at San Pedro de Quemez.

Day 3: Departure to Galaxy caves and crossing the salt flat to join Island Incahuasi with a walk among the giant cactus to the Island’s summit. Box Lunch. Trip to Colchani and further transfer to Uyuni.

Day 1: Departure from Hito Cajon 9h30 to Laguna Blanca, Laguna Verde and Llicanbur volcano. Cross by desert Salvador Dalí to Lagoon Chalviri. Box Lunch. Continuation Geyser Sol de la Mañana, Lagoon Colorada and desert Siloli to Ojo de Perdiz.

Day 2: Transfer to Laguna Honda, Laguna Hedionda and Salt Desert until arrival to Colchani.

Day 3: Departure to cross the Salt Desert to Coquesa, Volvan Tunupa and arrival to Incahuasi, walk to the top. Box lunch. Crossing to Puerto Chuvica and arrival to San Pedro de Quemez.

UYU-IT 11 - UYUNI EXPRESS

2 days – 1 night

Día 1: Recepción en el aeropuerto y traslado a Colchani al borde del Desierto de Sal. Travesía sobre el desierto a la Isla Incahuasi y traslado a Puerto Chuvica. Continuación por San Juan, desierto de Chiguana, ruta de los Volcanes. Box lunch. Laguna Hedionda, Laguna Honda y llegada a Ojo de Perdiz.

Día 2: Salida por el Desierto de Siloli, Árbol de Piedra, Laguna Colorada, Geyser del Sol de Mañana, Laguna Chalviri, Desierto de Salvador Dalí, Laguna Verde, Volcán Llicancabur y llegada a la frontera de Hito Cajón.

UYU-IT 13 - ACTIVE TOURISM: TREK VOLCAN TUNUPA

Uyuni or Colchani departure by 4x4 to Coquesa village in the Company of a local guide. From there 4 to 6 hours trekking up to the Thunupa volcano with beautiful views of its beautiful burst crater and over the all desert region. Box lunch included.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: During the rainy season (January -May) the Salt Desert is cover by water therefore all the itineraries that go through the Salt Desert must modify its rout for safety reasons. Ask the office for the correspondent modifications.
