Departure at requested hour. Travel through the Potosi highland and descent along the Andean Mountain Range toward the mild climate valley of Chuquisaca. Handsome landscape of little colonial villages, micro culture of corn, vegetables, fruits. Arrival at Sucre, the historical capital of Bolivia and declared World Heritage Site by Unesco.

 

POI-TR 03 - POTOSI - UYUNI - SIB

 

On line bus. Non-touristic stops. No guide.

Transfer from hotel to bus station and departure by paved road.

Crossing the Altiplano and the great tin and silver mines with its reddish hills and the little oasis of Chaquilla, Visicia, Ticatica. These are little villages built at the border of a river born from Andino infinite. Arrival to Uyuni with a panoramic view over the Salar region. No guide and non-stops service.

 

POI-TR 04 - POTOSI-PULACAYO-UYUNI

 

3 hours. Box lunch included. Private. Guide on request.

Departure for a journey through the Bolivian Highland and the great mining region of the country, with its color full mountains, small oasis of Chaquilla, Visicia, Ticatica and their villages built on the border of small altitude rivers. Stop at the entrance of Pulcayo silver mine work it from Incas time. Arrival to Uyuni with a panoramic view over the Salar region.

This service allowed making several stops for walks along rivers or panoramic places.

*Travel could be perform at midday without stops and non-box lunch.

 

POI-TR 05 - POTOSI-ORURO-LA PAZ

Five hours trip on a good road to Oruro city. Travel continuation on private or line bus for a 250km trip on good road to La Paz city.

*The regular service buses circulate at night generally with bus- bed or semi bed.

 

POI-IT 01 - POTOSI- VISIT OF THE COLONIAL CITY AND MUSEUM OF MINT HOUSE

 

Half day. Driver only. Private.

Visit of the former Imperial city of Potosi named World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Walk by the front door of San Lorenzo Church, Su Merced, San Francisco, Main Square, Jesuit Tower and the museum of La Casa de la Moneda (Mint House) where the Spaniard where producing the famous silver coins for the European crown (visit with official museum guides).

*Mint House closed on Monday replaced by Santa Teresa museum.

 

POI-IT 02 - POTOSI- CERRO RICO MINE VISIT

 

Half day. From Monday to Sunday at 09h00 or 14h00.

Visit of a colonial period mine run by Indian miners of the former Bolivian Mine Company; the mine was close at 1984. Entrance inside the historical Cerro Rico of Potosi Hill where we can observe the miners working out with their hand the rest of the silver and stain lines left by the 450 years of search. Each participant will received a helmet, coat, wellingtons, mining lantern and before enter must buy a preset (cigarettes, caca leaves or alcohol). Visit not recommended for sensible persons.

 

POI-IT 03 - POTOSÍ-COLONIAL HACIENDA CAYARA

 

2 days – 1 night. Driver only. Private. All meals included.

Day 1: Panoramic trip by Potosí region to reach Hacienda Colonial Cayara built in 1557 at a warm valley and conserved until today with its historical authenticity. Visit of the state and its museum with a unique library about colonial time that contains an impressive collection of books from 1650.

Day 2: Return to Potosí in the morning for continue the travel.

 

POI-IT 04 - POTOSI-UYUNI-SALT FLAT-COLCHANI-ORURO-LA PAZ

 

3 days-2 nights. Lunch included. Private. Guide on request.

Day 1: Potosí departure along the Highlands with view of the tin and silver mines as well as little oasis of Chaquillata, Visicia, Ticatica. Stop at the entrance of Pulcayo silver mine. Arrival Uyuni.

Day 2: Day 2 Departure by 4x4 on a sand track to Colchani and visit of a little family salt industry. Next arrival to Incahuasi for a 1h30 walk on the path among the giant cactus of the Island and around the most panoramic site of this volcanic site. Box Lunch. Return to Colchani.

Day 3: four hours trip on paved road to Oruro. Lunch and departure by regular bus, without guide to La Paz.

 

POI-IT 05 - ACTIVE TOURISM: TREK HACIENDA CAYARA

Departure by car through Potosi mine region to the starting point for the 3 hours trekking to arrive a picturesque valley at alt. 3550m where Hacienda Colonial Cayara is located. Lunch. Visit to the state and return to Potosi.

Departure at requested hour or according to the Potosí program. Overland trip through the valley of Chuquisaca with its little villages, corn fields, vegetables and fruits micro farms, and then ascent along the Andean Range toward the Potosi highland. Arrival after a 3 hours trip at the city of Potosi famous for the silver coins that the Spaniard have produce during the colonial period.

 

SRE-IT 01 - VISIT OF THE COLONIAL CITY AND ASUR FUNDATION TEXTIL MUSEUM

 

Half day. Private.

Visit of La Recoleta square, Textile Museum of the ASUR Foundation where original Indian tapestries can be purchase. Next House of Independence and finally the Treasure Museum.

 

SRE-IT 02 - TARABUCO INDIGENOUS MARKET

 

Half day. Sundays only. Private.

Departure on paved road for a panoramic trip to the village of Tarabuco situated among the soft hills of the region of Sucre. Tarabuco has always been a colleting center for the farming product of the Indian Yamparas, a tribe who has preserved its tradition and dresses. Visit of the Indian market were exchange of goods is still valid and of the little shops where the Indian offer their handicraft product. Afternoon back to Sucre.

 

SRE-IT 03 - SUCRE- POTOLO COMMUNITY- TYPICAL VALLEY AND INDIGENOUS TEXTILES

 

Half day (long). Privado. Box lunch.

Morning departure for an 80 km trip through Chuquisaca countryside. View over the Frailes Mountain and the Maragua Crater. Descend to a narrow valley and visit the community of

Potolo where some Indian women have been producing the colorful tapestries according to their ancestral tradition.

*Departure can be also at midday.

 

SRE-IT 04 - SUCRE-JATUN YAMPARA-SUCRE

 

Half day. Diver only. Private.

Jatun Yampara is an indigenous nucleus located at 23km from Sucre. Is a Yampara cultural values rescue project as it is the ancient culture of the continent. Appreciation of the typical houses, outfits and indigenous customs. Visit of the textile workshop, small museums at the site, native sanctuary and community little school. It can also be perform a light walk to know the typical houses. Possibility of purchase textiles and handicraft directly from the artisans.

 

SRE-IT 05 - ACTIVE TOURISM: TREK CHATAQUILA-CHAUNACA-POTOLO

 

Departure from Sucre to one-hour trip to Chataquila community where it will begin the 3 hours trekking over an ancient Inca route to reach Chauanca. Box lunch. Private transfer to Potolo village and visit the weaving women that make beautiful hangings with Jalka’s culture drawings. Return to Sucre.
